Search Requests
Looking for a particular item within the house? Want to know what you'll come across if you search a particular area? This is where you can come to do that!
All you have to do is fill out the form below and the mods will initiate a scene with you based on whatever kind of hunt you are doing. Roleplaying in this form will be more summarized and to the point for the sake of expediency. Also, know that requests will not always be fulfilled, or may only be fulfilled if your character accomplishes certain actions within the scene.
Character: [Who is doing the searching?]
Resource: [What are they looking for?]
Method: [What is their plan of action for finding said resource? Where are they looking? You have to give specifics here, or you will likely not get the response you're hoping here. We are looking for things like 'Searching the seventh wing of the library by looking at every book' or 'Trying to bust into a new room in the Grand Hall.']
You will not be allowed to claim your character is in possession of an item until you've completed the thread in which they find it. Don't be afraid to bug the mods if it seems that we've forgotten your thread. All scenes will be made as brief as possible.
Note this is for items that are not assumed basics. Basics include things like pillows from the Lounge or curtains from the Master Bedroom. Something that is obviously already in a location doesn't need to be asked for.

A book of voices
This book's text is in a language no inhabitant of the house will be able to understand, and there is a fair deal of text, but it also contains a number of conventional Western musical scores which, when played on an instrument, wordlessly imitate the cadences of assorted conversational patterns. Anybody who hears a specific 'tune' played will speak in the accent it's imitating for a few hours afterwards.
The sheet music to John Stump's 'Faerie's Aire and Death Waltz'
You know the one. A CD is attached. Unfortunately, there are no CD players in the house, and you don't know what a CD is anyway.
Six volumes of "Violin for Beginners"
Written in the Faerie tongues, and with conventional Western musical scores. Books 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are pretty standard basic sheet music and instructions for beginners. You could probably teach yourself the violin with these. The final book, however, titled "Violin for Beginners: The Secret Violin", will not actually open unless you are holding a violin.
"Popular Music Hall Songs"
This is a large hardback compilation, written in English, of sheet music pamphlets for Victorian music hall songs called things like When Father Papered The Parlour, A Little Bit Of Cucumber and Where Did You Get That Hat. It is clean, but anybody who picks it up and flips through it will inexplicably come away with slightly but noticeably sooty hands.
"Teach Yourself Hypnosis"
This book's cover claims all you need is a pipe, some practice and a 'good capering leg' to begin enchanting animals and small children into doing your bidding. Unfortunately (???) all of the music within is in an alien notation and cannot be deciphered.
